This summer we have two exciting opportunities for our kids.
The
first will take place in our own parish and is called Totus Tuus, a Diocesan summer program designed to strengthen our
kids’ relationship with Jesus Christ.
We will be hosting a team of college students—two men and two women—in
July. They will be putting on an
elementary day program (Vacation Bible School on steroids) during the days
(Monday, July 20th-Friday, July 24th) and junior
high/high school sessions in the evenings (Sunday, July 19th-Thursday,
July 23rd). The pillars
of this program include catechesis, Marian devotion, Eucharist, prayer and
fun. This week will also feature a
parish potluck midweek and water fight to conclude the week. Keep your eyes open for more
information and sign up sheets in the near future!
Second—Camp
Survive, the best camp we put on in the Diocese—will be taking place Monday,
August 3rd-Friday, August 7th in God’s
country—McGregor. Hosted by Big
Sandy Camp our junior high students (those who have completed grades 6-8) will
be exposed to our vibrant Catholic faith in a whole new way. With talks by internationally renowned
speakers, daily Mass, Confession, Adoration and camp games, Camp Survive is
always a highlight to my year.
Information and registration can be found at: http://www.dioceseduluth.org/Camp-. Sign up soon as the 200 spaces are
filling up fast!
Mark
your calendars for both Totus Tuus and Camp Survive! I am expecting we will get a good turn out for both of these
weeks. Please continue to pray for
our young people and that we may serve them well here at St. Thomas Aquinas and
St. Columban Catholic parishes.
God
Bless!
