National Catholic School Week: 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Listen to the homily here.

Notes:

National Catholic Schools Week
·      Praise God as we walk together this week through our country
·      We have 9 schools in our Diocese of Duluth
o   Hibbing, Virginia, Cloquet, Brainerd, Grand Rapids, Duluth (Stella Maris with three campuses) and us
·      Thank you for your time, talent and treasure for our School—our number one mission
·      We are now the smallest school…but we are growing
·      And we have an opportunity in our backyard
o   1,200 hours with our students with the presence of Jesus Christ
Thank you parents
·      In a good list as we follow Jesus Christ we must go from him first and parents second
o   We will be praying for each of the schools in our area
o   And yes, you parents must discern, pray and decide
Thank you teachers
·      In college we read a book named “Molder of Dreams” by Guy Rice Doud
·      Vocation
·      Thank you
All employees, volunteers and administrators, thank you
As Catholics and Christians, Jesus Christ is #1
·      Then they came to Capernaum, and on the sabbath Jesus entered the synagogue and taught.  The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.”
Whether you are in school as a student, a teacher, with a job
·      This is a vocation to learn

·      And let each of us listen to the best teacher: Jesus Christ
