Parish Bulletin Article: Important Events: 10-30-16

Here are some important events over the next couple of days:
·      Sunday, October 30th (or today!)
o   There will be two delicious breakfasts one at St. Columban and the second at St. Thomas Aquinas.  St. Columban will continue fellowship after their Mass.  The “Aquinas Café” will serve a brunch to support the bell mission.
o   (Yes, Fr. Dennis Hoffman, I’ll “cook” for you this morning!)
·      Tuesday, November 1st
o   This is a powerful day with a solemnity for “All Saints”.  We know many saints already: St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Columban, St. Joseph, St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Sebastian, St. Teresa of Calcutta, etc.  These saints are in our Roman calendar for those who have been “canonized” (i.e. our Catholic Church asserts to the whole world to those who are in heaven).  The “All Saints” solemnity offers us a day to remember our loved ones who may be in heaven.  Our times:
§  8:30am at St. Thomas Aquinas (with our school)
§  6:00pm at St. Columban
·      Wednesday, November 2nd
o   The day after “All Saints” we have “All Souls”—brothers and sisters that we offer our prayers to assist them through purgatory.  This is the only day of the year in which a priest can offer three Masses.  Our times and places:
§  8:30am at St. Thomas Aquinas
§  3:30pm at Samaritan Society
§  6:00pm at St. Columban
Enjoy the great week!

God Bless!
