Listen to the homily here.
Notes:
Notes:
Process for our ashes
· We
burnt them yesterday
· Last
night I simply took the ashes through a colander or sieve, then a half spoon
and have fork so a 4 year old said, “A spork”
· (There
is what it looked like)
· So
all of this “dust” is what we will come
· Now
I will take these smaller containers
· After
this homily I will bless the ashes and add holy water
· Then
you will receive the ashes on your forehead
“Jesus said to his
disciples:
‘Take care not to perform righteous deeds
in order that people may see them;
otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.’”
‘Take care not to perform righteous deeds
in order that people may see them;
otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.’”
· Now today, as
well as the rest of Lent, do not perform righteous deeds
· We must to be
humble
· Don’t
brag! Its placement can open doors
to what we are doing, and people make ask a conversation
What
are you doing in Lent?
· Next bulletin
article: give something away and add something
This
Lent I hope that we will focus on Eucharistic Adoration—enter the chapel after
Mass
