Happy Easter to you all! In a special way I would like to welcome our family, friends
and visitors to St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Columban parishes as we celebrate
the heart of our faith—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thank you for coming to worship this
weekend and know there is always a place for you here.
As
we gather for the most important Masses of the year, I thought I would share
some exciting happenings around our parish. Know you are invited to join us for any of the following:
A focused mission of loving God, serving
our neighbor, seeking the lost and making disciples. Inspired by Christ, we want to give God
our best and love our neighbor as ourself. We strive to remember those who are “lost” in society—the
sick, homebound, poor, disenfranchised—by welcoming them to Church and bringing
Church to them. We also want to
share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. We are on the upswing of enrollment,
finances and overall atmosphere of our greatest mission—our parish school. The 2015-2016 school year will feature
the addition of 5th grade and we are currently taking
registrations. There are many
reasons I would recommend considering Catholic education—the invitation of
Jesus into the classroom, a family atmosphere, holistic education, service to
the disenfranchised, academic excellence, etc., etc., etc. We would love to have your children and
family join our school family!
Transition in high school and junior high
faith formation. We are
implementing a discipleship model of faith formation which, around our country,
is the most effective in helping teenagers experience the joy, love and mercy
of Christ. This features building
relationships with your kids through small group settings, using technology for
presentations, reintroducing the sacraments in an exciting way and striving to
have a good time.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). Are you or a loved one interested
in becoming Catholic? As we
welcome four new members to our Catholic faith this weekend, know that you,
too, are welcome to officially join our universal community!
Bible Study at 7:00pm on Tuesday evenings (Church basement). Looking to learn more about the
Scriptures? We have a few sessions
left in our weekly Bible study this year.
Stay tuned for future opportunities to learn about our faith.
Coffee and donuts after the 10:30am Sunday Mass. Last, but not least, we resurrected (no
pun intended) this post-Mass fellowship.
It is a delightful time with the opportunity to enjoy family-friendly
community!
These are a few of the exciting
happenings around the parish. Know
you are always welcome here at St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Columban parishes!
God Bless!
