O come, o come Emmanuel
To free your captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
To free your captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice, rejoice o Israel
To you shall come Emmanuel
To you shall come Emmanuel
Welcome back to the new liturgical yearly cycle, beginning again with Advent. This season is indeed a quick one: 23 days in December, and it connects to our physical season that continues to get darker and colder outside. At the same time, I hope that these next 23 days can remind us to see the light and warmth of Jesus Christ in your soul.
Like Lent, I encourage you to find some goals to focus during these few weeks. Personally, I will be challenging myself within my body, mind and soul.
I am also excited for three opportunities for you. The first is that we will offer Masses on Wednesday at 6:30pm at St. Thomas Aquinas, enabling those who usually cannot make it to daily Mass if it is during your workday.
Second, we will offer Eucharistic Adoration and confession, and another priest will be hearing confessions. These will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, December 18that 6:00pm and at St. Columban on Thursday, December 20that 5:00pm. Please come!
Finally, like many times before, we just ordered Dynamic Catholic books that our parishioners may receive one or two during our reconciliation events and all brothers and sisters on Christmas.
Please take this time to find some silence, prayerfulness and service to prepare your heart for Christmas.
God Bless!
