Matthew 16:13-19

are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.”

so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church…”

Peter was a sinner
o “But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a
hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men.”
o Almost
drowned on the lake

Jesus
The chair of St. Peter…God does not choose the qualified…he
qualifies the chosen!
