·      This letter written a generation after Jesus Christ died

o   60s-70s

·      So he was coming back to earth

·      This is why Paul was writing about

o   “I give my opinion as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.  So this is what I think best because of the present distress: that it is a good thing for a person to remain as he is.”

o   “For the world in its present form is passing away.”

·      2 Peter 3:8:

o   “that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

We are in this “odd” time…after Jesus died before he comes again
