Phillip as a Deacon: Thursday, April 14th, 2016

At my ordination of a deacon—June 10^th, 2011—this was our reading:

·      Philip was one of the seven deacons

·      Several parts: evangelization, teaching, tell the Good News and Baptism

·      Teaching of Philip: “Then Philip opened his mouth and, beginning with this Scripture passage, he proclaimed Jesus to him.”

·      The man looking into Christianity: “Look, there is water.  What is to prevent my being baptized?”

·      Philip and Baptism: “Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and he baptized him.”

The more we learn, the more we walk with Jesus, the more we can do what Philip did: tell the Good News, share our faith and welcome people to our family
