A few housekeeping items for this weekend:
·
This Sunday we will have the opportunity to
travel to St. Martin’s in Tower to celebrate our Diocese’s 125th
anniversary. We will be gathering
with Bishop Paul Sirba, as well as the priests, deacons and faithful from the
Virginia Deanery (which includes parishes in Ely, Cook, Orr, Virginia, Mountain
Iron, Eveleth, Gilbert, Aurora, Hoyt Lakes). The afternoon will include Mass with Bishop Sirba,
historical sharing from parishes in our deanery and refreshments. If you are reading this, you may still
come! Bus leaves from St. Thomas
at 12:45pm and should be back around 8:00pm.
·
First Communion classes will begin on Sunday,
March 8th at 9:30am.
Kids will be meeting in the basement of the Church. Parents—a
letter is forthcoming (if you haven’t already received it) with more
information and dates. For now, I
would like to see you and your children at Mass each weekend. There is no better preparation for
First Communion than weekly Mass attendance!
·
Keep up the great work with our Lenten mission
to avoid gossip! I have heard many
good comments (an example of healthy conversation and affirmation) about the
work you are doing and how you have inspired your family, friends, classmates
and coworkers. Know of my
gratitude for your diligence and may we all glorify God and build up our
neighbor through our words!
God Bless!
